Becker directs NCPIRG's Utilities Watchdog Project, monitoring utility companies’ business practices, lobbying to protect rate-payers, and promoting affordable clean energy. She also researches and lobbies for best practices in transportation planning, investment, and growth sustainability. Before joining NCPIRG, Becker litigated employment law cases at Kator, Parks, & Weiser, PLLC, and clerked in the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. She is a graduate of HarvardLawSchool, where she was an editor of the Harvard Negotiation Law Review and a community mediator. Becker is a member of the North Carolina, Texas, and District of Columbia Bars.
